Lydia Jane

The way vintage styled model and fashionista Lydia belts out those R&B vocals so early in life is just amazing. Those who heard, and felt the grit, attitude and soul of her unique voice erupting from subterranean club speakers, or on the Craig Charles show, just want to hear more.

Lydia’s first 45 for BDQ records was her fabulous version of Billy Hawks Bad Girl and Rosco and Barbara Gordons classic Could This Be Love.

Then alongside the unmistakable sound of legendary Hammond God, Brian Auger, on the incredible Truth In My Tears.

Her next 45, a sassy version of The Small Faces, You Need Lovin’ with the unmistakable sound of the Hammond B3, courtesy of Bryn.

Her next 45 is Rockin’

Ballsy & Bluesy

BDQ were so excited when Brian agreed to play hammond on Truth in my Tears.

Bryn Barklam

Bunny first met Bryn in a rehearsal studio when he joined Mother Earth.

Bryn has played on several BDQ releases, as well as his own organ-centric projects, the latest being Tokyo hammond based outfit, The In Sound.

Watch out for their debut 45. Released 18th April.

Bryn’s sound is definitely not Lost in Translation

Nova Vida (Chris Bangs)

Chris is an absolute foundation stone at the groovy end of the UK music scene. DJ, club promoter, producer, songwriter and bottomless well of knowledge.  From The Special Branch, Cock Happy and Doos At The Zoo to producing Galliano and Paul Weller.

Their is nothing he cannot successfully turn his musical mind to and that includes granting BDQ permission to release his music on limited edition 45.

Stephen Bunn (Bunny)

Bunny has been in and around the music scene on and off since the 80s. From working at Stiff Records and Acid Jazz, he is a DJ, Promotor, Record producer and Percussionist.

“Mother Earth was fun, Ministry of Sound was Crazy, Early Shoreditch was Bonkers, but what’s happening now is truly Fabulous.

Releasing our own music and the music of our friends, on our own label, is a very organic process, working with people that we’ve met along the way feels very natural, and I thoroughly enjoy it.

We’ve got some amazing releases coming out in 2024”

Greg Boraman

Brian Auger’s creative & business consultant, DJ and occasional Hammond botherer Greg, secured Brian for Truth In My Tears and Jeannine for release.

Greg has also acted as a label consultant for us and long may it continue.

He lives in North London with his very rare 1961 Hammond C3, far too many vinyl records and some fancy goldfish.

Jon deBrett

Jon played with various bands, until he set up deBrett Studios in 1988. it was at this studio that the seminal Mother Earth album “Stoned Woman” was recorded, with Jon engineer, programmer and musician.

In late 2002 deBrett Studios closed,

In 2019 Bunny & Jon once again resumed making music and recorded the Bunn Debrett Quintet album at the newly refurbished deBrett studios and BDQ Records was born.
